Inspired by the teasel heads along the towpath, heavy with bloom and busy with bees at the height of summer. This piece captures a bumblebee mid-harvest, wings caught in glass, resting against the spiked purple crown of a wild teasel. Each detail is leaded and coloured by hand, from the bee's soft banding to the teasel's textured bract, so the light through the window brings the whole scene back to life. A piece of the wild towpath, made to bloom indoors all year round.
