The ‘Blushing Cloud’ Tulip: An Everlasting Spring Bloom
There is a moment in early spring when the tulips on my boat roof garden begin to unfurl, their petals streaked with the softest creams and rosy pinks. This handcrafted stained glass stem is my attempt to hold onto that fleeting beauty forever.
Using a rare soft pink and white whispy glass, each petal has a "marbled" effect. When the light hits it, the white streaks look like morning mist drifting through a pink sky. Because of the way the glass is made, no two tulips will ever have the exact same pattern—your bloom is as unique as the one growing in the earth.
The Glass: A delicate, semi-translucent pink opal swirled with wisps of cloud-white. It has a soft, glowing quality even in low light.
The Stem: A sturdy, hand-finished copper-toned stake, ready to be tucked into a vintage bud vase or a pot of live greenery.
The Language of Flowers: What it Means
In the Victorian Language of Flowers, the pink tulip is a symbol of "Caring, Attachment, and Good Wishes." Unlike the bold red tulip of "perfect love," the pink and white variety speaks of a gentler, more enduring affection—the kind found in deep friendships and maternal bonds.
Who Would Love This?
The Romantic Minimalist: For the home that favors soft textures, pastel palettes, and "Cottagecore" charm.
The April & May Birthday: A thoughtful gift for those born in the peak of tulip season.
The "Black Thumb" Gardener: For the plant lover who wants the beauty of a botanical home without the worry of wilting petals.
A Unique "Thank You": A meaningful gesture for someone who has offered you kindness and care.
Materials: solder, pink and white whispy cathedral glass, copper-finished stake.
Dimensions: Approx 35cm high
Hand-soldered on the *Willow Aurora*, Wiltshire.
This piece looks most magical when placed in a window where it can catch the "Golden Hour" light. The white whisps will catch the glow, making the flower look like it’s lit from within
